LOCAL MP GETS CRAFTY

Aidan recently spent the afternoon at Norton Canes Library with the Crafty Creations Group run by Friends of Norton Canes. The group meets every Friday to take part in craft work and is also a great way for local people to meet each week and chat in a relaxed environment.

Later in the afternoon Aidan was on hand to serve tea and coffee at an afternoon tea organised the Norton Canes Community Partnership which supports local people and groups and helps promote local events in the area.

Aidan then held a 90 minute Q&A session with local residents hosted by Norton Canes Community Partnership, during which a multitude of issues were discussed, including speed limits on local roads, the quality of teaching in local schools, Ofsted inspections and green belt development. Aidan was joined throughout the afternoon and at the Q&A session by local Norton Canes Councillor and Chairman of Cannock Chase District Council John Beddows and County Councillor John Rowley as well as local Police Community Support Officer Neil Griffiths.

Commenting Aidan said: "I was very pleased to be able to attend Norton Canes library for this crafts session and afternoon tea. A big thanks must go to Tracey Gould for organising the day – and for allowing me to make the tea and coffee, and most importantly of all, providing the biscuits!"

Tracey Gould, Community Development Officer at Norton Canes Community Partnership added: "Norton Canes Community Partnership was delighted that Aidan could attend our Afternoon Tea event at Norton Canes Library. Everyone enjoyed the discussions and was pleased that he volunteered to make the teas and coffees".
